Indeed, continuing the conversation from the KBCO thread, this is my favorite #90 song of all time.

and now, BOS to my favorite song off of Brothers In Arms.

"I have legalized robbery...called it belief."

nice segue from the Ronnie clip.

since '86 isn't the kind of year that tends to get foks excited, here's a couple of trivia questions relating to Yello's "Oh Yeah".

1.) In addition to being used in Ferris Bueller's Day Off in this year, what movie used it the following year?

2.) A couple of years later someone tried to make a sitcom out of Ferris Bueller, but it only lasted 5 episodes.  However, in the longstanding tradition of movie-to-tv failures, one of the cast members in this utterly forgotten show went on to HUGE success in the industry.  Who?

another good segue from the Flint plant closures to the Alarm "Strength"...think I will give this a BOS vote.

Oh, god.  I just wasted my vote on Talk Talk and now XTC!  I tried to change my vote...He said "OK, THIS time".   Oh, that hurt.  No Grass.  At least he cut it off before it got to the point of no return.

That almost happened to me, but I didn't quite vote for the Alarm tune.

1.) it was the Michael J. Fox movie Secret of My Succe$s (featuring the oh-so-cute Helen Slater as his love interest)

2.) the young actress cast as Ferris' sister Jeannie was...Jennifer Aniston

1.  Level 42 - Something About You
2.  Clarence Clemons - You're a Friend of Mine
3.  Talk Talk - Life's What You Make it
4.  Dire Straits - The Man's Too Strong (BEST OF SET!!)
5.  Pet Shop Boys - Opportunities (Let's Make Money)
6.  Alarm - Strength
7.  Jackson Browne - For America
8.  Ric Ocasek - Emotion in Motion
9.  Robert Palmer - Hyperactive
10.  XTC - Summer's Cauldron

BONUS TRACK:  UB40 - Rat in Me Kitchen

Damn, nobody mentioned the PSBs, "Opportunities"? a relative rarity, and it woulda been a co-BOS for me with XTC, Level 42 and Clarence C.  A better-than-average '86 set, it seems to me. I'll actually look forward to the replay.

Also no mention of "You're a Friend of Mine," a/k/a, "the most unlikeliest duet partners ever," a/k/a, "the very last time Jackson Browne had a purpose musically."
