Reagan into "Sold Me Down the River" -- a classic Morey seg if ever there was one. VHM, even if the tune itself is a Katrina.

That's got to be Johnny Clegg & Savuka.  An ATBB in the unlikeliest of years from the unlikeliest of artists.  Kudos to Dave for that one.

as opposed to a bustout from Dave that one or more of the other 10@10's plays with some regularity.

Okay but this leads to a good My 3 Songs variant: yesterday Annalisa played this & then The Temptations "Psychedelic Shack".  Can you guess the 3rd song?  (Hint: it didn't have Shack in the title, only the lyrics)

and btw, how cool was it to hear "Psychedelic Shack" at 3:40 yesterday?

I completely agree on this one.  There are many other songs from this album I would have preferred: Roam, Junebug, Bush Fire, etc.

ooh forgot to mention Dead Beat Club:   "Let's go down to Normaltown tonight..."

HOLEEE SHIT!!!

Best Vietnam vet song Evah!

BOS Metallica "One"

I can't remember anything
Can't tell if this is true or dream
Deep down inside I feel to scream
This terrible silence stops me

Now that the war is through with me
I'm waking up, I cannot see
That there is not much left of me
Nothing is real but pain now

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me

Back in the womb it's much too real
In pumps life that I must feel
But can't look forward to reveal
Look to the time when I'll live

Fed through the tube that sticks in me
Just like a wartime novelty
Tied to machines that make me be
Cut this life off from me

Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, wake me

Now the world is gone, I'm just one
Oh God, help me
Hold my breath as I wish for death
Oh please, God, help me

Darkness imprisoning me
All that I see
Absolute horror
I cannot live
I cannot die
Trapped in myself
Body my holding cell

Landmine has taken my sight
Taken my speech
Taken my hearing
Taken my arms
Taken my legs
Taken my soul
Left me with life in hell

We already know how much I dislike "Psychedelic Shack", my least-fave Tempts tune.

is this the anniv of his death? I recall it was in December; I had just bought an Orbison Greatest Hits LP to get "Pretty Paper" for a Xmas mixtape I was making and he died the next day -- spooky.

I think it was the anniversary of his last show, in 1988.  He died from a heart attack soon after it on Dec 6.

Dave has backed off on "Yellow Moon" some, this was once one of the biggest Katrinas out there (Dave played this in literally every other set for 2 1/2 yrs running 2002-2004).  Now only 5th time in 4 yrs, and '89 is coming up more often.

From Wiki:
Orbison headed down to Nashville on December 4th, and on Tuesday, December 6th, he spent time shopping for model airplane parts and flying them, but during the afternoon he complained of chest pains. He was visiting with Jean Sheperd when he collapsed after excusing himself to go to the washroom. He was rushed by ambulance to a hospital in Hendersonville, Tennessee, and was declared dead at 11:54 p.m. on December 6, 1988. He had suffered a massive heart attack.
On December 15, Orbison was buried in an unmarked grave at Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Joey McIntyre does theater and was in the film version of the legendary musical The Fantastiks, which went straight to video a few years ago.

Dave mentoned that Jethro Tull won the heavy metal grammy this year (89) -- - I seem to recall hearing some actual booing coming through on the TV when this happened.  From JTull's wiki entry:

In response to the criticism they received over the award, the band took out an advertisement in a British music periodical with a picture of a flute lying amid a pile of iron re-bars and the line, "THE FLUTE IS A HEAVY METAL INSTRUMENT."[10] In response to an interview question about the controversy, Ian Anderson quipped, "Well, we do sometimes play our mandolins very loudly."

When "Who Wants to be a Millionaire" first came on, a guy was getting pretty close to winning it all (I think he was at the 500 grand question) when he ran up against this question.  I'm screaming at the tv -- "It's Tull, it's TULL!"  He did not become a millionaire.
