1991 today: very Morey, except for Southside Johnny (an album even his NY/NJ fan base barely remembers).

1977 on the Peak... thought I was listening to a Drive set for a minute: an obscure Steve Goodman song called "Videotape".

"Wouldn't you be in good shape
If your life was on videotape?"

followed by a George Carlin clip and then "Estimated Prophet."

ETA: also Blondie "I'm Always Touched by Your Presence" (it's really not cheating!) and Mink DeVille's "Mixed-Up Shook-Up Girl"!

Neat coincidence: The I Love Music message board was just talking about this Smithereens song "In a Lonely Place" today and its cinematic reference:

I was born the day I met you
Lived a while when you loved me
Died a little when we broke apart ...

Lovely stuff, and this from someone who's not really a fan.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

A Flash & the Pan song that's NOT "Hey St Peter".  "feelin' like a woman/lookin' like a man..." Hmmm.  "Walkin' in the Rain" (?)

What's this horrid "Walking in the Rain" thing?  It's like the "Hey St. Peter" group covering the old KROQ punk nugget "Suicide Child."  I hate it already.

Happy Friday!

The Dead didn't exactly expend a lot of effort on this cover, did they?
