we've hit '60s '70s '80s '90s this week; hoping for our 2nd '70s set and not a '90s redux (or 2003).
"7 Nation Army" is a fine TOTHK, sez me.

Perhaps a "fall" theme set? Although fall doesn't officially begin until Sunday.

I've always lobbied for "spring" and "fall" sets but we've never really gotten either -- lots of Summer 10@10s and once AL did a first-day-of-Winter set that was awesome.

We probably will be getting 2003. I heard a promo saying we're going 10 years back, when the "terminator became gubernator".

Sounds right - Renee and Greg said she was visiting a year they never visited before (it wasn't in their database).
If that's the case, this is the first week where 10@10 visited five different decades! :o

Renee just said "a year we've never done before" but then her record-keeping is rather shaky. ;) 2003 it is, I guess. Expect "Hey Ya"

actually, AL did the 5-decades thing several times. And we did do 2003 at least once.

TOTHK - The White Stripes "Seven Nation Army" - 2003 it is

I should have said it was Renee's first visit to five different decades. ;)

Jet "Are You Gonna Be My Girl"

-
2nd space shuttle disaster. Dan Rather gets choked up.
-
Dan Rather on the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster into Foo Fighters "Times Like These"
-
no Foos like some old Foos: "Times Like These"
-
We got this in a 2002 set, so 3/3 repeats. But for once, she's playing a song off of an album that was released earlier in the year that the song itself correctly impacted! :o
-
Evanescence "Bring Me To Life"
-
WOS1 Evanescence.
-
4/4
-
Fountains Of Wayne "Stacy's Mom"
-
BOS "Stacey's Mom", another repeater but one I actually, y'know, like.
-
VHM Finding Nemo.
-
Finding Nemo into Jack Johnson "Wasting Time"
-
WOS2 and LN1: Jack Johnson, the font of a million soccer-mom sex-fantasies.
-
Our first non-repeat. But as LN as any of them.
-
John Mayer "Daughters"
-
WOS2 and LN1: Jack Johnson, the font of a million soccer-mom sex-fantasies.
but sounding better than most of the other songs
[ducks]
-
NOOOOOOO!! WOS3 John Mayer "Daughters". Ick.
-
WOS, quite possibly of the year, for Daughters. This was played on a Father's Day set, and adds nothing to this one, so it gets put into the repeat pile.
-
NOOOOOOO!! WOS3 John Mayer "Daughters". Ick.
Yeah, I agree. Icky. Would like to press the PSD button. RadioParadise has it: "Play Something Different".
-
David Byrne on The Simpsons into Counting Crows "Einstein On The Beach (For An Eggman)"
Wasn't this a hit way back in 1994?
-
BOS2 David Byrne on the Simpsons.
WOS4 Counting Crows.
-
BOS for "Flanders". That's a good song.
-
Dido "White Flag"
-
BOS for "Flanders". That's a good song.
"and his views on birth control are wrong!" LOL!
-
Dido "White Flag"
I was about to throw one up myself.
-

Yawn. Dido sounds like McLachlan Lite.
-
Umm, this CC song is from 1993-1994. Making this 7/8 repeats.
Renee's other 2000 sets to date have actually been pretty good. So far this one is a disaster.
-
Jonny Lang "Red Light"
-
Umm, this CC song is from 1993-1994.
was there a best-of out in 2003? I'm sure that'll be her excuse.
Jonny Lang sits at a red light. meh.

Wasn't it used in a movie?
"Red Light" is totally boring. Can't stand to hear "red light" at the end of every line. Nearly.

It was on the Counting Crows' Greatest Hits album, which I think came out in 2004, not that she'd care.
EDIT: Actually, I think it came out in November 2003 (yes, I guess I could look it up.)

Yes, but it had all their other famous songs on it. She said they weren't doing it anymore after she played "Sound & Vision" from David Bowie in 1989 due to the boxed set. But I guess they are doing it anymore.
I agree that "Red Light" is boring and dumb. Sadly when taking into account the FF/other station currentesqueness of everything else it's probably the most necessary thing on this set.
-
currentesqueness
My new favorite word! And a better band-name than Evanescence.
-
Renee: BOS FF; VHM Jonny Lang
-
WOS2 and LN1: Jack Johnson, the font of a million soccer-mom sex-fantasies.
but sounding better than most of the other songs
[ducks]
I'd rather go to a Jack Johnson concert than a White Stripes concert.
-

BOS. I find this sweet and heartfelt.
I cannot understand how people find this icky. Boring, or wimpy, or schmaltzy -- yes, although I
don't share those sentiments. But icky? And yet, all those rawk songs that basically say,
"I want to fuck you right now, baby" -- and in vernacular language that is often that direct --
get a pass. (And what of that long-time wedding standard, Thank Heaven for Little Girls?)

"Girls become lovers/And turn into mothers" -- seriously? Ugh.
