btw, have we ever played Name That Sax Solo on this song?

Hint: it's a pretty big name.

I always assumed it was David Sanborn. Unless it was Tom Scott.
Let's get right to it.

It sounds like David Sanborn's work on "Young Americans," so that's my guess.

Sanborn was pretty much the go-to guy for session sax players thru the late 70s & early 80s, with Tom Scott getting the sessions Sanborn couldn't take, and Michael Brecker getting Scott's leavings.
Let's get right to it.

Arlo-Comin' Into Los Angeleeez
Let's get right to it.

I'm gonna nit-pick on this choice, much as I love the song: "Bringin' in a coupla keys" refers to kilos, which is how cocaine is measured in large quantity, right?  Or is bulk-marijuana bundled by the kilo as well?

But let's add Glenn Frey, "Smuggler's Blues," anyway.

Yes, marijuana comes in kilos too.

more smuggling songs:
Thirty Days in the Hole, Humble Pie (hash, but close enough)
Then Came The Last Days Of May, Blue Oyster Cult (went down to Mexico to score some dope, double crossed, died in the desert)

And, just your ordinary dope song:
Sweet Leaf, Black Sabbath
and any fool knows
a dog needs a home
a shelter
from pigs on the wing
