9/12:
On todays edition of Soundwaves 10@10, its another edition of Top 10 Tuesday!
Well count down the hits to the #1 song in the country on this day on whatever
year the wheel lands on! Today, well hear the song Lou Rawls performed at the
Grammy while also battling a coughing fit, and the only #1 song with the same
word repeated four times in a row.

FYI, if anyone is using the beta.mixcloud.com link, it hasn't been updated
since the Back To School set from the 6th, so the Walter Becker, 1992 and
Top 10 Tuesday sets haven't been linked there (yet).

Kinda lame that both this set and the 70s Instrumental set from the previous week include A Fifth of Beethoven. C'mon, you couldn't have come up with ONE other song to replace it in one or the other of these sets (or even better, two -- as that song is kinda cheesy in the first place).

The whole set screams "Let's dial in 1976 and put absolutely no effort into it". And I like most of the songs, but sheesh... if Renee had put this set together the Snipes would've gone nuclear.

Well, sure, it's Top Ten Tuesday, he found a list of songs that were in the top ten on this day and played them. It's what Top Ten Tuesdays are all about, a document of a moment in time, not a creative effort.
It is unfortunate that A Fifth of Beethoven appeared in both the 70's instrumental set and this one (or either one, but that's a matter of taste). But the Instrumental set came before this one, and he may not have thought that far ahead to know that it was going to show up in the top 10 for this day.

D'oh! Next time I'll pay closer attention.
