BOS to one of my fave Tom Petty songs...

Agreed.  And I don't ever remember Dave playing it before.

Keep feeling Katrination...

Have we heard this in three out of the last four '83 sets, or am I completely bonkers?

You are totally bonkers!
Love that word.

Maybe, but pretty much nothing takes me back to 1983 like this song does, primarily memories of getting out on the dancefloor bopping around with some pretty girl.  Never a Katrina for me.

"Whistle Down the Wind" is indeed Nick (Haircut 100) Hayward, with Pino on bass.  It was a couple years ago when Geoff pulled that out of thin air, claiming it sounded like Pino but he'd never heard the song, that we all most of us learned who Pino was.

And now here's the slow song that usually came just after "Fascination" on my dance mix tapes.
"Music is the Earth, People are the Flowers, and I am the Hose."

I'd give it a BOS on that basis alone... but wait, Spandau Ballet, "True", one of the great ballads of that period and surprisingly it's not a Katrina, at least IMHO. Dave probably plays PM Dawn's appropriation of it more often than the original.

Spandau gets the BOS nod unless something truly earth-shattering comes along. (Like THAT'S gonna happen!)

VHM Jabba the Hutt! I used to work with a guy who SWORE Jabba was modeled after George Steinbrenner...

If Dave has played PM Dawn more than once, I sure missed it.  But that's not to say that "True" is a katrina in any way.

BOS #3 - "A Million Miles Away", from the best movie soundtrack of the decade.  A song so nice the played it twice in the film.
