Happy Birthday shout-out to Kim Gordon, bass player/sometimes singer/all around bad-ass of Sonic Youth who turns 58 today.  Dayum, gurl.

when I bought their Sonic Youth EP back in 86, I thought the band was made up of four guys.  yes, that's Richard Edson back there, he used to play drums w SY

Do you remember their awesome Madonna cover, "Into The Groov(y)"?  It came out around that time...
