And some good jazz-funk-rock from the Dan!

And some funky blue-eyed soul from the Scaggs!

This was a classic when it got into my Db on 9/12/05.  Solid to great set all the way around.

Urth, this is not in the archives & I dare say is better than many '76 sets that are.  Hint Hint.

...yeah it's been a while...

Holy Crow!  when was the last time Dave played a significant excerpt from a call like that?  Other than people guessing the mystery year in 2-3 syllables I mean.

Have you ever seen The Long Kiss Goodnight? where Geena Davis and Sam L Jackson have an argument about that mondegreen? Hilarious.

Nope, sounds funny.  Is the rest of the movie worth watching?  I dig Geena.

It's a decent rental - Geena Davis as Jason Bourne.  Interesting action sequence involving a big water wheel.  Samuel L. is on his game.

Geena's then-husband Renny Harlin, thought he was gonna turn her into a big action star... then they made that godawful pirate movie Cutthroat Island and studios stopped returning their calls.

Did this start early, or was this a really short set? I got back from my meeting at 10:30 and all I heard was the Boston tune and the backsell.

Will have to try to listen tonight in any case.

I remember him playing a conversation about 3-4 years ago about whether or not to play Midnight at the Oasis in a set from 73 or 74. I don't think it got played, at least not in that set.

Actually Cutthroat Island came out the year before, but after LKG GD divorced Harlin & didn't make a movie for 3 years.  She has only done Stuart Little movies & the TV show Commander In Chief since.  Oops.

Now on her 4th husband, with whom she has her first 3 kids.

"Roots, Rock, Reggae" was Bob Marley's only Hot 100 hit, making it to #51 that year.

BOS to ED&JFC.  Dippy song but so fun to hear every now and again.  Another one, along with "Chevy Van," among the "songs that were hits as a direct result of the sexual revolution" setlist.
