Well, we'd've preferred Election Day, but '70s two days in a row is nothing to sneeze at.

Looking ahead, KFOG has begun flogging the latest LFTA disc. It drops a week from Saturday, so we can likely expect an LFTA set, some time next week, I'd wager.

indeed -- Thursday's "New Music" thingy is all about the LFTA.

Is "You may be Right" from '79? or '80?

Hmmm--good point. You May Be Right.

But Allmusic is slow, so it's taking me awhile to get the answer.

ETA: Yep, it was released March 1980. And YMBR hit #7 in that year as well. But I'm not gonna be the one to tell DM he flubbed this one.

Top40db sez '80.  I'm sure Dave regrets the error...

WWWWWWWWOS: "Heartache Tonight," a hint of the vacuous lyricism that Frey would later "perfect" with "The Heat Is On."

Nope, AMG says it's Phil Kenzie. Similar tone to Tom Scott, but a little honkier.

And this could potentially be another wrong year--Time Passages was released in 78, it says, and this didn't chart so potentially the chart action rule doesn't apply. Dave must remember it from 79, that's it.

I was already looking that up, thinking it might've been Rafael Ravenscroft, but it's someone named Phil Kenzie who has no other links in AMG.

ELO's lyrics at their most nonsensical: "You're looking good just like a snake in the grass"?

Never did figure out who "Brrrrruce" (as opposed to "Brooooce") is, or why he's bringing J.Lynne down.

Ooops, I must have clicked wrong or else there was a momentary glitch on AMG.  He has an extensive credit history, starting with Manfred Mann in '69 and notably featuring the original cast recording of Rocky Horror!

We go from silly ELO lyrics to silly Starship lyrics.  But hey, that's what it was like in '79.

Like a cat and a mouse (cat and a mouse)
From door to door and house to house
Don't you pretend you don't know
What I'm talkin' about

I ain't pretending bub, wtf are you talking about?
