Two days running, someone here's got the crystal ball...
-
he got his crystal balls back.
instant BOS "Thorn in My Side", one of the Eurythmics singles that shoulda been a bigger hit.
-
Katri-knew the Bride. Love the song, hate this version of it. Huey/Newsified rendition that it is.

I expected 1986 for Monday back last Friday when I queried Dave about my birthday set, and told him so. But he said Monday would be movie day, and suggested I email him suggestions. I suggested "Miss Misery" (I believe I posted all this earlier), but only half-heartedly as there are too many movie suggestions out there. Instead I concluded my note by asking that if I could defer any request until the next '86 set, & would he kindly take it under consideration to play "Let's Go All The Way" &/or "Forever Live and Die".
So that's really why I have been hoping for '86 all week. Now we'll see. My guessing '75 yesterday was just random.

agreed. And here's the totally expected Blow Katrinkys.
Hoping against hope that Mark's Sly Fox request is honored... That would make my week.

But instead we get to hear Eric & Tina for the second time in 30 minutes, give or take.
-
Wow that's some echo all the way from Boulder!

not what I would've guessed, if I'd been asked to predict a repeat track -- BoDeans, maybe. But no half-a-BOS this time.

Just heard there was a fire on the BART tracks somewhere between Embarcadero and Montgomery about 45 minutes ago. Both BART and the Muni underground are shut down into downtown SF.

Ginger's using her powers of telekinesis to cloud Dave's mind...

The Top 40 database says Daryl Hall had a hit in 86 called Dreamtime, but somehow I don't think that was Daryl Hall.

that's just the way it is (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/4789090.stm).

Indeed, And I recall liking it too -- another one somebody should play in an '86 set.

bos to my zeitgeist: "throwing it all away"
-
"you know I know baby
that Phil is WOS..."

Dave's gonna shut me out. I can just feel it.

Definitely the Stranglers, we've heard it before.
ETA, it's the title track on the same album as "Ghost Train", and it came out in 1987.

The GM plant closure clip into Ship of Fools worked nicely tho.
Avarice and greed are gonna send you over an endless sea...

I think this World Party track is officially "Ship of Katrinas".

agreed, but Urth is right about the segue. Single game exemption in that case.

Love the Furs, hate the remake. Or I find it unnecessary, at any rate.

If Dave refuses to play either of my requests & instead we get a 1986 set containing a re-released 19841 track and a 1987 track, is that grounds for a lawsuit? :?

I say yes. I also say "ENOUGH WITH FUCKING JOSE ALREADY!!!" (unless of course Dave really IS fucking Jose...)
-
(unless of course Dave really IS fucking Jose...)
Dave sed: "I don't want to push a personal agenda on Jose...at this time."
So I guess he's still working up the nerve.

Nice to see that Jose is not infallible tho. Bruce Hornsby, fercryinoutloud? What can that man be thinking? (Not that there was a lot to choose from in this set.)

Annalisa's bonus is the true BOS: Elvis C, "Brilliant Mistake".
When this song came out, I was working for ABC News, and I worked with a not-very-bright woman whose perfume really "was unspeakable" and I always wondered...
