Memphis Blues Again.

When the Dead used to do this, we used to see who could be the first to pick out Weir's lyric flubs. Then he got a teleprompter.

the teleprompter era was actually pretty short.  I thought it was mainly for Jerry, since he was so messed up.  I'm not really defending Bobby, as he's famous for flubbing lines, but I have seen him do Desolation Row without a teleprompter before too.  I play in a low class church band, and I look at chord sheets for every song.  I can't imagine having to learn the hundreds of songs those guys played.

Yeah, I think we just liked to pick on Weir. I should be more forgiving for those Dylan songs--they're incredibly long, lots of verses with lots of lines.

Would it be bad form to ask the Deadheads amongst us about the "Bob Weir-is-gay" rumors?  I had (straight) deadhead friends who repeated that rumor often back in the day ("Bob Queer" some people supposedly called him; "Weir as a 3-dollar bill", etc) and it was allegedly common knowledge.  I know that he got married relatively late in life.  Had you heard this or was it maybe an East Coast rumor?
