A Waterboys song that isn't "Fisherman's Blues" to close it out.

Renee's been into odball cover versions of late: BOS2 Fishbone's take on "Freddie's Dead"

And this is a positive sign. Even if it results in the occassional Sister Hazel cover, it sure beats hearing "Roll With It" (as much as I enjoy the song) yet another time.

I second that emotion. And the '90s/'00s are chock-full of tribute albums from which to pull such gems.

My good/necessary ratings:
1. D/B
2. F/B
3. C/B-
4. F/D
5. C-/A-
6. B/C
7. B-/A-
8. A/A-
9. B/B+
10. A/A

I think this is one of Renee's best late 80s sets.  It was pretty varied with a mix of hits and obscurities from different formats, had almost no KFOG staples or LNs (the BB King/Neil Young were the closest, but even those aren't that overplayed), wasn't overly snoozy, and didn't have a trainwrecky flow like 2003 last week.

Although I would disagree with your 'good' rating on the first couple of songs, in general I'd concur. The fact that only one song is below-average in the necessary component is revealing.

What was the general Snipe feeling about this?

FP was rather pleased, despite not knowing who Fishbone are.

They seemed pretty upbeat.  No comments saying the set was bad, although no one commenting that it was outstanding.

From the sweeper: "In honor of the Olympics, the year Table Tennis became an Olympic Sport."  Which would suggest 1988.

VD tomorrow, tho', for sure.

Venereal disease...?  Uhhh... okay.  I nominate Procol Harum's A Souvenir of London.
(Now that I've said that, CapnJack will probably have a set ready for us tomorrow.) :)
