My brother thought until earlier this year that Eric Burdon sang the lead vocals on this.  Don't think he's ever heard any War besides this and "Spill the Wine" (such is life in the white rural suburbs of Pittsburgh).

Ooh!  VHM to "Somebody Up There Likes Me."  I think this is gonna be a fab set.

My thought exactly--this was my pick for '75. I wonder if I'll be getting my "vertical tasting" one song at a time?

But '73 and '75 in the same week--can't complain about that in the slightest.

BOS1 for Bowie's Somebody Up There Likes Me. Play it, David (Sanborn, as well as Mr. Jones).
Let's get right to it.

Y'know what I was thinkiing the last time I heard this on the radio?  I was thinking that if they canned the voice track this would be a pretty good instrumental.

I think a gas-shortage segue into "Money. Money, Money" would have made more sense.

Next weekend I'm heading to Boston to appear on a panel at the NEMO music conference.  Some friends of mine were going to come visit for the day, but if gas prices approach $5/gal, they won't make it.  Sigh.

Proxy of Cairo (and HM from me) to "Holdin' On to Yesterday."

Hoping for a segue into Gino Vannelli's "People Gotta Move."

ETA: never mind, that was the fall of '74.

SUBLIME (w/exception of War). Votes all around.
Holdin' On to Yesterday must add to iTunes library. Very calming.

BOS2 Holdin' On To Yesterday--Ambrosia at their best.

Just occured to me--has DM ever played the Kinks "No More Looking Back" in a '75 set? It's a great song, certainly deserving of more notice. (I just bought Schoolboys in Disgrace as part of my annual birthday Amoeba album binge last weekend--more on that later!)
Let's get right to it.

10am is magic time here at Turgid Dayjob. Pretty much every day this week- either I have a meeting or someone needs something. Today is no exception.

I hope everyone's doing well and enjoying the show.

Easy BOS for Dr. Wu, possibly my favorite Steely Dan song.  Anybody up for Indian food today?
