I do believe it was getting NYC club play in late '73 -- but I somehow doubt whoever's programming a station in SLC would be hip to that.  ;)
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Fri 9/20/13: 1984

 1. Van Halen - Panama (wow, epic fail by the announcer right off the bat, who said this was "Jump" while this was playing!)
 2. Mike Reno & Ann Wilson - Almost Paradise
(TV: The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson)
 3. Bryan Adams - Somebody
 4. Ashford & Simpson - Solid
 5. Billy Joel - The Longest Time
(Commercial: Wendy's "Where's the beef?")
 6. Huey Lewis & The News - The Heart Of Rock & Roll
 7. Honeymoon Suite - New Girl Now
 8. Foreigner - I Want To Know What Love Is
 9. The Honeydrippers - Rockin' At Midnight
10. Twisted Sister - We're Not Gonna Take It

Wow, the announcer continues to fail with regards to the Van Halen track.  He gets the song right on the backsell, but claims it was the band's only #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, which refers to "Jump"!  ::)
