OMG Renee's all choked up.   This set was quite lovely. This has been an above-average week, for sure.

Loudon Wainwright III "Daughter"

From the Knocked Up soundtrack, I believe (then again, I'm the guy who misidentified Keef as Mellencamp and a flugelhorn as a French horn yesterday)
yes, a coworker just came in to say how great this song was, and that he first heard it from that movie!

Awwww, RR got all misty -- maybe she really does have a soul.
Let's get right to it.

Tom Shane's son is named "Rordan"? (Riordan?) Sounds very Celtic.

This certainly proves (as if it needed proving) that any set can be above-average if a little bit of thought goes into it. More, please.

Renee said she added Marc Cohn at the last minute. I wonder what she had originally planned to play - Harry Chapin? Paul Simon?

Renee says Adrian Belew gets BOS.

ETA: Renee's personal BOS went to Loudon Wainwright III.

Tim played the Simon "Father & daughter" song just before 9:00. Maybe he messed her up with that. He also hinted he was going to play F.Mac's "Oh Daddy" but that never materialized.

That would have really puddled me.  "Father and Daughter" was the father/daughter dance song at my daughter's wedding!

It' a cover! "Daughter" is a 1995 song by some fellow named Peter Blegvad.

Johnny Cash "A Boy Named Sue"
Paul McCartney "Put It There"
Angie "Peppermint Lump"

Madonna "Oh Father" (or "Papa Don't Preach")
Queen "Father to Son"
Wayne Newton "Daddy Don't You walk so Fast"

personally I'm glad we avoided Mr Chapin, tho' I know that's a Father's Day staple to many. And amazingly we also skipped "Papa Was a Rolling Stone"

And worth noting that the calendar falls in such a way that we *could* get a "First day of Summer" set next Friday (6/21) and the Pride Set the Friday after that.
