Here's Ali's disco, could PoC's Ambrosia be next?

Myself, I'm felling a little Dave Mason-ish.  Or Gerry Rafferty-ish.

What was the problem with yesterday's set? It wasn't stellar, but it was decent. XTC, Stones, Prince, Gary Numan, Dire Straits, Split Enz. (ETA: Oh yeah, and Blondie, too!) Save for the Eddie Money song, what's not to like?

You guys didn't like the Eddie money song yesterday?  I was listening while driving and thought that was the highlight, and very surprised that a plurality of voters thought so too.  Certainly it was the furthest afield that Dave ventured in the set.

Really? I thought the Blondie tune was Dave's one true obscurity yesterday--just about everything else was stuff we'd heard several times before.

Here's your disco, Ali--bet it wasn't what you expected tho!

Ah, now this is more what we expected--BeeGees! Bet they give Todd a run for the popular BOS vote.
Let's get right to it.

where's yer quote from, babe?

a friend of mine in d.c. sent me an email with her thoughts. i stole the line from there. before i had a line from r.e.m.'s "ignoreland." here's the email:

so here you go

first thing - I did write the Christian Broadcast network - I will forward
to you - seriously when are they going to start blaming me - I am sure it is
my fault - with all my orgasims and women's rights

my thoughts on monday the 26th - big fucking deal - weather - americans
cares way to much about weather; its not controversial - i cracked several
jokes that it was raining in the south as that was all the news coverage

tuesday - ooh - that might be cool - forced to hang out and play cards with
people you don't know in the superdome - yeah uncomfortable - but where
outside of school are you forced to be social with people; and what a diet -
no food for two days shrinks your stomach - you get rations the next morning
- but hmm.... isn't this a great time for the president to grand stand -
where is he - oh yes vacation - the most well rested american per the french
-

wednesday - where the fuck is bush? oh he had to raise money for the GOP?
i heard they didn't make the GNP of mexico this year - and the vacation was
over

How the fuck is Harry Connick Jr. able to walk around and hug every stinky
person in the superdome and give them water but not FEMA? What is the
purpose of FEMA again - to hold press conferences and lick bushes ass hole.

Thursday - now you are headed down there - But Harry has built three houses,
written a song, literally given the shirt of his back to a starving black
man (he did that this morning actually) and FEMA is still trying to find NO
on the map

Friday - a 7 year old girl is raped in the superdome and killed - her rapist
was then beaten to death; you have kids who are not even in diapers - Sri
Lanka offers us $25K in aide and they still have people in tents from the
Tsunami - Afganistan is sending back the MREs we were able to drop on them
and $100K - why? because they too think it is wrong to let your population
starve and hire your best friend for a $200K job he's not doing.

All I did this weekend was watch coverage - I shouldn't have done it. I am
too angry to cry - until I see Harry who is hoarse from wading through the
water and saving an entire city. Every time I look into Harry's eyes I cry
- everytime some mother goes I have 2 of my kids but my 8 year old is
missing - I cry.

I go to the gym and rip a new one into the cardio machine - I am going to be
able to run my ass out of DC and grab three kids as I go. Actually now I am
working on the evacuation plan for my friend in a wheel chair - she would be
the first left behind I'm sure.

Bush is more of a muther fucker than he was before. And like Kanye said -
he hates black people - and hugging two of them in Ol' Miss doesn't count.
And now I have to go buy that album. He also said the gay bashing is going
to stop.

I did laugh when Trent Lott's wife weeped at the loss of her house.
Everyone should have some comic relief

You know the world is fucked up when FOX News is covering the same outrage
stories as my shitty liberal papers.

A friend works at DHS HQ in DC - they had 100s of desk jockey volunteers
sign up to go to the Gulf on Monday morning - these are former FEMA type
people who live for this shit - during Hurrican season they sign up hoping
to get picked and pulled away from their monitor - they didn't get there
marching papers until Friday at 5 PM.

How many babies died? Well they don't vote so they don't count.

I always said they country would pay for voting him in a second term - I
just didn't think poor black people would die - I thought midwesterners
would loose their SUVs. Well they will loose those too.

I hope to god Gas becomes $10 a gallon and $100 a barrel - American behavior
is dictated by our pocketbooks not our brains.

DC is only taking in 400 people and our bus caravan to NO got lost and then
ran out of gas. So someone flew them in.

I am going to try and take in a college student whose displaced. My car is
full of stuff for the relief - sheets, towels, toothbrushes - that is just
from my mom. My friend's church group is going to take it and drive it down
there.

Brett Farber from the Green Bay Packers is from Miss. He flew the packers
747 to nashville on Wed full of supplies he bought himself, then loaded them
up and drove to Miss - the people he saw never saw FEMA and never saw the
red cross.

My mother thinks people should take in the refugees to their home (she won't
but others should). She said Crawford is empty now - I'm sure a couple
thousand people could liver their comfortably. The white house has a few
extra rooms.

your thoughts - sara

first time i am thrilled that i could pass as white - FEMA might be able to
find me
