24 April 2013: a "Classic" from... 1972
« on: April 24, 2013, 09:26:44 AM »
presumably today is a '70s or '60s day.  FYI, the Sound is doing 1974.

the mighty 'berries say "mah mo yeah" in their uber-LN '72 TOTHK.

The Sound begin their '74 set with BadCo, speaking of LNs.  I'll stick with '72.

If this is the one I think it is, it might be worth sticking around for the rerun...what's the Sound leading off with?

*****SPOILER ALERT*******

1. Raspberries - Go All The Way
2. Al Green - Let's Stay Together
3. Joni Mitchell - Cold Blue Steel and Sweet Fire
4. Jackson Browne - Rock Me On The Water
(News: Nixon)
5. The Allman Brothers - Ain't Wastin' Time No More
6. Doobie Brothers - Listen To The Music
7. Mott The Hoople - All The Young Dudes
(Movie: Poseidon Adventure - Shelly Winters)
8. The Kinks - Celluloid Heroes
9. Carly Simon - You're So Vain
10. Fleetwood Mac - Bare Trees

Let's get right to it.

This classic dates back to December 3rd.

And yesterday was Dec 4. Something tells me RR did not dig too hard when looking for her faves.
Let's get right to it.

I'll stick around for Joni -- a real rarity. And theKinks. But a few too many uber-LNs for me.

(not that the Sound are doing much better in '74: BadCo, the Dan, ELO...)

My radio doesn't get the Sound, so I'm sticking with what's a decent enough set.

I'm BOSsing "Bare Trees", though it's a close call with Carly's twin assets.

"Listen to the Music" is such a sledgehammer for me (GAP dances - I don't even know what GAP stood for, but there were girls), and "All the Young Dudes" is such a great tune, that I don't mind.  VHM for both.
