We're something like 6 or 7 songs in and I can't say I've heard one that I've missed or that I recall fondly. Typical DC snooze.

agreed -- a combination of Triple-A being not terribly interesting at the time and DC unwilling to bust out some pop-chart goodies (Hanson, for example)

A few more sets like this and I'm going to start looking for other 10am listening options. This is just a waste of my time.
Let's get right to it.

Except for #s 6-7, this could have turned out a lot worse.

Flipped to Live 105 and heard the Cardigans, "Lovefool", which would've been welcome in this set. Ditto "Brimful of Asha"or the aforementioned Hanson.

"Leonardo was king and Kenny kept getting killed"

Titanic and South Park both debuted in '97, so I guess that's it.  Our last visit was 3 months ago, amazingly.

The only thing more scarce than '60s sets in the RR/DC era are late '90s ('96-'99)/early 2000s sets.

Once again, a '90s set, a period where I will not have been over-exposed to the tunes,
most of which will be new to me and, in the end, forgettable.

I like the Meredith Brooks song, don't mind the swing revival of BBVD, and... that's about it.
Most of the rest was pleasant but didn't have much impact on me.  Oh, except for Angel.  It's
a pretty song, but it reminds of the Wings of Desire remake, City Of Angels, with Nicolas Cage
and Meg Ryan.  I haven't seen the Wim Wenders original, but the I find the premise of CoA
dumb.  To use christian terminology, if you're an angel living in the grace of God in eternal ecstasy,
there's NFW that you would want to incarnate as a material mortal, even for a babe like Meg.

Good/Necessary:

1. C/C
2. C/B (guilty displeasure)
3. C/D
4. B/A (oddly, I don't believe this has gotten much love lately)
5. C/C (I love McLachlan,  and don't necessarily mind the snoozy rarity, but this is absurdly low-key).
6. B/B
7. B/B
8. B/A
9. B/A
10. B/B

This is about as good as we can expect from 97, methinks.
