the "drug" section certainly lifted that set above the ordinary for about 10 minutes, but the rest of it was mostly LN City. Be interested to see the FB comments.

BOS, Traffic, which does not seem to qualify as LN to me.  I haven't heard it in a long time.  It's not something your going to hear on 103.7, for instance.  Of course, there ARE more necessary Traffic tunes...

It's only in the Shraytabase twice: a '71 set in 2007 and a Kaboom set in '03 (the year Winwood performed). Can't recall AL playing it.

It's fun to play on the guitar, though.

Oh, sheeet.  until THIS VERY MOMENT I always thought Jim Morrison got it wrong with the anagram of his name.  I always thought he had left off two letters, the M and the R, b/c "Mojo Risin" is missing those letters.  I overlooked the "Mr." part.  It was a nice Doors clip.

I also liked that Drug Report.. how hilarious.

Renee's clue: the year George harrison gets in trouble for plagiarizing "He's So Fine". Well, he was sued in '71.

worth noting, perhaps: we haven't had a '60s set in 3 weeks. Tho' I guess 1970 counts towards '60s by DC's reckoning.

FYI, this is the second longest gap between '60s sets (currently at 14 weekdays) in the RR era.  The longest drought was 17 days from early December to early January (granted there were holidays and 3 theme sets).

the rest of the week should go '90s-'80s-'60s-'90s, I'm guessing.

The next 2 Mondays are 2 of my favorite Theme Sets of the year: Tax Day and Earth Day; here's hoping we get both.

Lee Michaels "Do You Know What I Mean"

The Oasis song of the same title, of course, has never appeared on 10@10.

There was a bustout in this set, and I'm a little surprised no one caught
it.  I'll reveal it at the end of my post.

I think that 1971 is the best year ever, separated from second place 1970
by only a smidgen (or epsilon, for you calculus buffs).  While I know that
Renee possesses the ability to mess up even this stellar year, she avoided
that today and I would rate this set as good+.

The PharmChem drug report and the Harold and Maude excerpts were DM frequent
flyers, and while it was nice to hear them yet again, it's further evidence
that rather than find new material, the archives are being raided for clips.

As noted, the Traffic song has made two previous appearances in the DM era,
and yes, Annalisa played Illegal Smile once.  I liked hearing both of them.
I wonder how many young'uns understood the reference when he sang about a
dream where he went to court, and the judge's name was Hoffman?

Led Zeppelin's Rock and Roll has also seen only two spins on 10@10.  Everything
else has been played at least four times, with the Lee Michaels hit seeing
the most repeats.

And the bustout?  T.Rex's Bang A Gong!  The Power Station cover has appeared
multiple times, but this is a first for the original, at least on a 10@10 set.
But I won't argue with giving it a LN designation, given it gets played at
least eleventy gazillion times a year on "classic" rock radio, plus there
is so much good material from 1971.  You could program a couple of month's
worth of 1971 10@10s without ever repeating a single track.
