Suggested by urth, here is a second round of Beatles covers:

 4. Flamin' Groovies - There's A Place
(John 1965)
https://soundcloud.com/capnjack-1/200-10-10-beatles-covers

Fab! Gear! What's your response?

Thanks for taking my not-so-subtle hint -- loved it! Some I'd heard before, several I hadn't (that Flamin' Groovies song is the bomb), and all strung together nicely with some great clips.

Nice.  I don't think I'd ever heard this.  Great vocals, great twangy/crunchy/crispy guitar tones!
Don't stand in the way of LOVE!

You're welcome.  I have another Beatles covers set in the making -- I'll probably save it for when I start using AL intros/outros (which shouldn't be very long now).

Hey Big Fingers McGee, you mentioned you had three ideas/suggestions for future 10@10 sets.  What were they?  I'll probably queue them up when I start using the AL intros/outros (very soon).

One was a 30@10 dealing with my road trip in July.

Since 1978 is a year I know sucks...

Today's set [1978] didn't disappoint, in the sense that it was almost entirely of no interest to me.

With that, one final RR set, 5th visit to 1978:

 1. Elvis Costello - No Action
 2. Queen - Leaving Home Ain't Easy
(TV: The Carol Burnett Show)
 3. Linda Ronstadt - White Rhythm And Blues
 4. Roy Ayers Ubiquity - Freaky Deaky
(TV: WKRP In Cincinnati)
 5. Jethro Tull - Weathercock
 6. Dusty Springfield - A Love Like Yours
(TV: The Carol Burnett Show - farewell)
 7. Gil Scott-Heron - Better Days Ahead
 8. Pointer Sisters - Hypnotized
(TV: Mork & Mindy)
 9. Steely Dan - Here At The Western World
(News: Carlos the Jackal)
10. The Clash - Tommy Gun
(TV: The Carol Burnett Show - "I'm So Glad We Had This Time Together")

Enjoy!

4th visit to 1966:

One more RR set to go!  In the meantime, let me know what you think of this one.

A short and fun set.

Quote
1. The Beatles - Doctor Robert

As a group the Beatles released just over two hundred songs.  Yet we haven't seen them all
on 10@10.  This would be a bust-out

Quote
4. The Rolling Stones - Stupid Girl

The Stones cover Garbage!  :)

Quote
5. Bob Dylan - Visions Of Johanna

One of my all-time favorite Dylan tracks.  "And the all-night girls they whisper of escapades out
on the D train" -- naturally I'm not sure exactly what he means, but if memory serves, the D train
ran for several minutes and tens of blocks without a stop on the way under and up to Harlem -- a
notably long run in the NYC subway system.

Quote
6. Frank Sinatra - Strangers In The Night

This says 1966 more to me than any of the other songs... accompanying my mother on errands
and while shopping... she still listened to WNEW-AM out of New York, where this was standard
fare.

Quote
8. The Lovin' Spoonful - Coconut Grove

Another favorite track; ditto the other comment about John Sebastian being underappreciated.
"Your favorite songs, played beautifully"

a pleasant enuf set I guess, but given the year and the suggestions... hardly earth-shattering.

I feel no great urge to catch the replay tonite.

yes, while pleasant, most of this set seemed to fall into the FF/LN category to my ears.
[paste comment about wasted potential here]

I wasn't planning on starting AL sets so soon, but given the above reaction to today's '74 set, I decided to compile this one quickly:

 1. Three Dog Night - Sure As I'm Sittin' Here (per Big Fingers McGee)
(Commercial: Kmart - the saving place)
 2. Randy Newman - Naked Man (per RGMike)
 3. The Isley Brothers - Summer Breeze

 4. Grateful Dead - Pride Of Cucamonga (per Geoff)
 5. Cheech & Chong - Earache My Eye (featuring Alice Bowie) (per Big Fingers McGee)
 6. Barbra Streisand - Life On Mars?
(News: The Beatles at the Plaza Hotel New York, December 19, 1974)
 7. Anne Murray - You Won't See Me (per RGMike)
 8. The Souther Hillman Furay Band - Fallin' In Love (per Big Fingers McGee)
(Commercial: Memorex - is it Ella Fitzgerald live or is it Memorex?)
 9. Jorma Kaukonen - Genesis (per dischead)
(News: Richard Nixon vs. Dan Rather in Houston, March 19, 1974)
10. Boz Scaggs - You Make It So Hard (To Say No) (per RGMike)

Sadly I still can't listen to these at work until they upgrade our PCs (soon, I'm told)

Have they upgraded your PCs at work yet?
