10. John Denver - Babe, I Hate To Go

(White Rock Cream Soda)

2 questions: is that an early version of "Leaving on a Jet Plane"?  And was White Rock soda ever sold outside the northeast? I grew up drinking that stuff, especially their pineapple-flavored soda, which was called "Kula-waii"

1 - Yes, that's an early version of "Leaving on a Jet Plane", from his self-released album (250 copies made).
2 - White Rock soda was a NY/Northeast area thing -- I included it after hearing it on a NY-radio aircheck (forgetting which DJ at the moment).

we had 3 big local sodas in tne NY metro: White Rock and Hoffman (which were both in the supermarket -- Hoffman made a Chocolate cream soda that was sublime) and Hammer, which was home-delivery only. (I never got the point of having soda delivered special to your house)

Now, this is mostly the 1987 I remember. Didn't realize there was an earlier version of that Neneh Cherry song.
