Delayed due to circumstances beyond my control, here's my tributes to Bobby Keys, Ian McLagan, and Joe Cocker via my 9th visit to 1971:

 1. Nilsson - Down (R.I.P. Bobby Keys)
 2. Faces - Bad 'N' Ruin (R.I.P. Ian McLagan)
 3. Joe Cocker - High Time We Went (R.I.P. Joe Cocker)
(News: R.I.P Jim Morrison)
 4. Humble Pie - Big George (R.I.P. Bobby Keys)
 5. Barbra Streisand - Space Captain (R.I.P. Bobby Keys)
 6. Marsha Hunt - Wild Thing (R.I.P. Ian McLagan)
 7. The Rolling Stones - I Got The Blues (R.I.P. Bobby Keys)
(News: R.I.P. Louis Armstrong)
 8. B.B. King - Caldonia (R.I.P. Bobby Keys)
 9. Third World War - Working Class Man (R.I.P. Bobby Keys)
10. Rod Stewart - (I Know) I'm Losing You (R.I.P. Ian McLagan)

https://soundcloud.com/retrocapnjack/268-10-10-1971

This set is dedicated to Lightin' Rod and dischead (for the heavily rocking aspect of this set) and urth (who has a sweet spot for early '70s set, especially 1971).

I would love to hear Bad 'N' Ruin over the air. AL has played Stay with Me the morning after I've requested Bad 'N' Ruin, and that's as close as it has gotten to airplay.
Slipping into something
And out of something else

After a month away, the return of "alternative" 10@10 sets is here!  First up, 1968:

 1. Linda Lyndell - What A Man
 2. Eddie Floyd - I've Never Found A Girl (To Love Me Like You Do)
(News: Hubert Humphrey calls LBJ after losing to Richard Nixon)
 3. Barbara Lynn - You'll Lose A Good Thing
 4. 1910 Fruitgum Company - 1, 2, 3, Red Light (per RGMike)
 5. The Cowsills - We Can Fly (per RGMike)
 6. Elvis Presley - If I Can Dream (per RGMike)
(News: Martin Luther King, Jr. assassinated)
 7. Nina Simone - Why? (The King Of Love Is Dead)
(News: Robert F. Kennedy assassinated)
 8. Spanky & Our Gang - Give A Damn (per RGMike)
 9. James Brown - Goodbye My Love (Pts. 1 & 2) (per Big Fingers McGee)
10. Intruders - Cowboys To Girls
(News: Larry Kane interviews John Lennon and Paul McCartney)
11. The Beatles - Happiness Is A Warm Gun

https://soundcloud.com/retrocapnjack/255-10-10-1968

Anyone miss this?  Let me know!

Doing a short shift at my day job for vacation coverage, so taking this opportunity to catch up here. And let me say you haven't lost your touch. First off, I never knew Salt N Pepa's "Whatta Man" was a cover. No idea whatsoever. Really nice mix of R&B and pop tunes here. Loved the Humphrey and LBJ clip - Johnson could not sound less sincere. And Cowboys To Girls is a longtime fave, always good to hear.  So in short, yes, I am glad to see you creating new sets - definitely keep posting, but only 2 or 3 new ones per week please; that's about as much as I can keep up with.
Let's get right to it.

wow, a Cure tune we appear to have never heard on 10@10 -- you'd think, given how Cure-happy AL/RR (and KFOG generally) have been since 2009 that it woulda popped up at least once.

That's certainly '77 as I remember it. I was doing college radio and probably played all of those.  Bonus: not one of these appears on this week's Jan 1977 AT40 rerun.
