I'm not recognizing this thing about blackbirds. Steve Miller?

It does sound like him.

And it is: Journey from Eden

I'm probably in the minority, but I like his poppy stuff better.

Definitely Steve. NTM. BOS. He wants to fly like a blackbird.

Is it just me, or have the sets improved dramatically this week? Purple Rain edit excepted.

certainly a better balance between the obvious and the less-overexposed.

Love the heads-up sound of Argent! BOS even though this is a Morey frequent flyer.

And as the Elvira pinball machine likes to say, "Nice organ!"

Agree, but this is one I can't help but associate with the summer/fall of '72. Saw the reformed Zombies a couple of times several years back with Rod Argent on keys, and they did this one.

OMFG!!!!! They're playing an R&B song that's not completely overplayed. Three serious BOS contenders today!

(That would be Harold Melvin's If You Don't Know Me By Now, for those playing along at home.)
Let's get right to it.

"If You Don't Know Me..." By the Bluenotes is hardly rare, but it's a lovely closer.  VHM.

Def one of RR's better efforts, overall.

Heh, reformed Zombies. Do they still eat brains?

VHM for Simply Harold.

oops, I thought Teddy was #10 -- but we get the Dead or Jerry solo -- I can never tell.  BOS4 in any case.

And it turns out it wasn't even the closer. The Dead in the guise of Jerry, Deal. Always dug this one as a first-set closer in my deadhead days.

It was released under Jerry's name, but I think it's the Dead behind him. And they played this one live pretty regularly, so you're right either way.
