10 Dec 2012: it's... 1988
« on: December 09, 2012, 08:49:39 PM »
I'll be at an all-day work thingy so feel free to fill in the blanks. I'm guessing '80s or '90s.

Since we hit the 70s twice as well as the 60s last week--and our 8os year was early 80s--I'd say that's a pretty reasonable guess.
Let's get right to it.

And we've only done the 2000's once since April, so there's that. Here's hoping that doesn't happen, although I'm happy to say we haven't hit 2003 at all in 2012.

It's '88 and so far it's been Smithertreens and this Sail Away song, which probably isn't Enya but sounds like it should be.

Starting to leave Obvious Land: Steve Earle.

This show really takes save the best for last, or at least later, seriously.

Oops, not so fast. Another frequent flier in Siouxsee, although this might be a remix.

Now getting some of that late '80's fake, overproduced blues with that Don't Be Afraid of the Dark song and some honky tonk piano song.

We're hitting every bad late '80's trend: fake reggae covers of '70's hits with Wild World. This is a contender for WSE (worst set ever).

I'm not sure if my BOS is Robert Cray or Tracy Chapman.  So yeah, definitely a contender.
