Segue of the Day!

Bonus: a New Order song that's not an AL-trina (afaik). ETA: it may be a bustout; BOS3FRA in anycase.

VHM Def Leppard and their one-armed drummer

Is that the phone? I'm a gettin' it!

I have a soft spot for the wall of sound harmonies as this was the first real concert I attended.

‎06/28/12 Thursday! 1988!

1. Steve Winwood - Roll With It
2. Terence Trent D'Arby - If You Let Me Stay
(Movie: Bull Durham (Kevin Costner) "I believe in the soul, the cock, the pussy, the small of a woman's back, the hanging curve ball, high fiber, good scotch, long foreplay, show tunes, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are self-indulgent, overrated crap. I believe that Lee Harvey Oswald acted alone, I believe that there oughtta be a constitutional amendment outlawing Astro-turf and the designated hitter, I believe in the 'sweet spot,' voting every election, soft core pornography, chocolate chip cookies, opening your presents on Christmas morning rather than Christmas eve, and I believe in long, slow, deep, soft, wet kisses that last for seven days.")
3. Pixies - Gigantic
4. R.E.M. - Orange Crush
5. They Might Be Giants - Ana Ng
(News: A cordial concession from Michael Dukakis to George Bush)

(News: Jimmy Swaggart "I have sinned against you."
8. Morrissey - Every Day Is Like Sunday
9. Def Leppard - Armageddon It
(Movie: Bull Durham. "I f-ing love winning. Teach me something new.")
10. The Pursuit of Happiness - I'm An Adult Now
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

Whoa, I missed the double segue, Swaggert->Every Day is Like Sunday. And possibly, even a triple segue with Armageddon It.

I thought this set was awesome.

BOS Pixies Gigantic

It does seem more like a Breeders song than Pixies, and not just because of Kim's lyrics. The phrasing is similar to Cannonball.

my thoughts exactly! except for the BOS part. I was never really on the Pixies bandwagon. It's OK, tho'.

know what the song is about?  heh heh

LN: Wild Wild West. Let's come up with some soundalikes:

Mild Mild Vest
Riled Child Mess
Filed While Quest

Tiled Tiled Rest (room)

Which reminds me of those long ago days when I was a student at SF State.  Many of the restrooms were tiled with small white tiles perfect for punning -- Tile be seeing you, Un-tile we meet again, infant-tile, etc. etc... there were a million of them, each penciled in by ever more "creative" students.  Damn that was a while back - 40yrs and more.
and any fool knows
a dog needs a home
a shelter
from pigs on the wing

fingers crossed for anything that isn't "Wishing Well"

Well, somebody did request both "Fast Car" AND "Roll With It"!  ::)

I'm gonna start referring to people like that collectively as "The DC Fan Club"

While funny, that isn't really accurate.  >:(
