not exactly, but that was how it was reported. From the NYRMB:

"SCOTUS did NOT rule on whether the rule actually complies with the First Amendment. The ruling was limited to the fact that the plaintiffs (Fox and ABC) did not receive fair notice of the rule and how it would be enforced. It was really a procedural ruling rather than one on the constitutional merits of the rule."

I guess this Sylvester song qualifies as LN, but when else would we get to hear it?  I still like it.

assuming this is song 10 (I lost count), I guess AL's choice was either this or the Carl Bean -- we've heard both in all her Pride sets so far, I think.

ooops -- I missed the beginning, she *did* play the Rev Mr Bean.  BOS7.

and it's not at all terrible, but Dave's Pride sets tended to be downbeat (Tom Robinson, that Neil Finn AIDS song, etc) and it was part of that vibe.

Yeah, Dave's interpretation of Pride was informed by the loss of  his partner and his Pride sets seemed to reflect that.  I had thought about requesting the TRB song, but after AL's comment on wanting to stay positive, and on reflecting about the content of the lyrics, I thought better of it and went for the Mukilteo Fairies song that Dave would play sometimes. (Not that Glad to Be Gay is not a great song. )
Let's get right to it.

Indeed, "GTBG" is brilliant ... and very much of its era. I worshipped Tom Robinson then --saw him live several times in '79 and '80, incliding at the Bottom Line in NYC where I was close enuf to touch him.  He's married to a woman, now, ya know.  We need to hear "Grey Cortina" in a '79 set someday. or "Power in the Darkness".
