Wed 3/14/12: 1980

oy vey.  "Her Strut" appears in its THIRD 1980 10@10 this week. I do respect Seger, BUT...

LNs on parade: Queen, Clash, AC/DC, Journey, Romantics... sheesh.

But BOS Rod the Bod, "Passion", beginning his series of fine radio-friendly '80s singles.

VHM BJ's "Don't Axe me Why" -- one of the more palatable songs from Glass Houses.

WOS the Doobs, recycling themselves shamelessly on "Real Love"

Bob Seger - Her Strut
Police - Don't Stand So Close To Me
Queen - Crazy Little Thing Called Love
Clash - Train in Vain
Rod Stewart - Passion
AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long
Journey - Any Way You Want It
Billy Joel - Don't Ask Me Why
Romantics - What I Like About You
Doobie Brothers - Real Love

I anticipate a deluge of Doobies in the next few days, given Mr. Hossack's passing.
Let's get right to it.

Thur 3/15/12: 1976

expect Boston, Foreigner & Steve Miller.

But instant BOS George's "This Song". Could be Sugar Pie Honey Bunch...

LN1: BOC, "Don't Fear the 'Trina"

oh, ELO you so fine! VHM.

Mr Miller appears. Shocker.

WOS: Kansas, like a maiden that is soon to be a bride.

eek: live Skynyrd. I've said it many times -- unless it's a truly historic live LP (like, say, Frampton), it's unnecessary in the context of 10@10. (Corollary: a live version of a "deep track" is preferable to a song that was a hit in its studio incarnation)

"Love is the Drug" is borderline LN, but in the midst of this mainstream-AOR crapfest it's practically avant-garde.

Boston appears too. Shocker.

uber-LN2 Wild Cherry.

a Petty song that's not an uber-LN! I may break down! VHM.

George Harrison - This Song
Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper
Electric Light Orchestra - So Fine
Steve Miller Band - Rock 'n Me
Kansas - The Wall
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Saturday Night Special (Live)
Roxy Music - Love is the Drug
Boston - Foreplay/Long Time
Wild Cherry - Play That Funky Music
Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers - Breakdown
