Things are continuing to look up.  Let's hope this trend continues:

CNN Breaking News:

Embattled Rep. Tom DeLay is indicted on a new charge of money laundering by a Texas grand jury, AP reports.

I think Dubya should be applauded for appointing a Texas Tranny to the Supes!  Ruth Ginsburg could use a little more eyeshadow & blush...

Not quite on the scale of the Watergate indictments, but still encouraging to see cracks forming in the administration's teflon skin.

Indictments Coming Tomorrow; Targets Received Letters Today

An uber-insider source has just reported the following to TWN (since confirmed by another independent source):

1. 1-5 indictments are being issued. The source feels that it will be towards the higher end.
2. The targets of indictment have already received their letters.

3. The indictments will be sealed indictments and "filed" tomorrow.

4. A press conference is being scheduled for Thursday.

The shoe is dropping.

More soon.
Let's get right to it.

I feel like there should be a football stadium full of left-wingers shouting "File That Brief! File That Brief!" while cheerleaders chant, "2-4-6-8, bring an end to Plamegate!"  Anyone wanna grab a beer with me at the concession stand while we wait this out?

Well, now you won't have to.

This from Reuters on the web: A senior aide to Bush said: "His respect for her obviously has grown in the fact that she was able to set aside any personal ambition and put the presidency and the process on a higher plain," the aide said.

Two frink points to the first actual or wannabe copy editor who can find more than one error in this sentence.

Hmm. I'd maybe put a comma after "grown" and after "ambition" too. And of course delete  "the aide said".

Well A senior aide to Bush said: "yadda yadda" the aide said is certainly redundant, so you get one frink point there.  The other stuff is awkward, but as it's a quote I think we have to let it stand.

The 2nd error is more subtle.

The colon ("...  aide to Bush said:") should be a comma?

**ding ding ding** That was the first thing that jumped out at me--the redundant "said" thing didn't hit me til I'd reread it.

Me too.  I had actually written "...the error..." & was previewing my post before I noticed it needed to be "...more than one error..."

So I glanced too quickly at the headline and thought "he's nominated Angela Alioto to the Supreme Court ?!?" But, alas...
