Beatletrina: "Oh Darling". In which they channel/rip off/pay homage to Charles Brown. Oh please come home for Xmas, darling.

I thought I remembered reading that this is one of those songs written with him in mind that he originally turned down... and then began covering in concert after it was a hit for somebody else.  There's another that's on the tip o' me tongue...

Taking a guess, but is that "Until It's Time for You to Go"?

No.  But it'll come to me eventually.

Yeah, it's all that and more.  One of my favorite Beatles tunes.  When I was young me and my buddies used to sing it around the campfire.  There may have been drugs and alchohol involed.

HM to Booker T & the MGs' "Time Is Tight," though I far prefer "Hang 'Em High."  There's just not enough tension on this one, not enough resolution, just kinda loops around itself -- the same criticism I have of the Crusaders' instrumental I forget the title to.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

that would be "Put it Where You Want It".  Ever hear Sly's 15-minute "Sex Machine"? (NOT the JB song)

BOS to the Rascals, "See."  Used to be a Dave fave back in the '90s, but I haven't heard this much in recent years.

Urgh.  I dislike "Sex Machine" almost as much as the Airplane's "Spare Chaynge."  Long rock instrumentals almost always bore me.  It's the only sour spot for me on the whole Stand! album.
