BOS to this "What If I Came Knocking" song that I've never heard before.  This can't be John Mellencamp, can it?  Damn, he got a fire here.

Has to be.

ETA:  as I thought, it's from Human Wheels, a disc I've owned (courtesy of Columbia House) since '93, but haven't listened to in ages.  Gonna have to rectify that tonight.

Biggest gap of logic in set: the use of "Soul to Squeeze" in the Coneheads movie.  I mean, wha?

I'm right there with ya. My first thought was "BOS by default", but this sounds quite good this morning.

I hadn't heard the Portait song before (or am just blocking it) but have certainly heard this JCM song before.

it is, and I like them, but his rap/scat amalgam is not wearing well.

BOS2 for "Sleeping Satellite"!  Another sad tale of a talented artist who never had a follow-up hit b/c she didn't want to do what her label told her to.

Tasmin Archer!

Sleeping Satellite is hot, reminds me of a trip to Germany.

I don't agree with the songs sentiment, but love the song, have the CD

Think we'll escape '93 without hearing 4 Non Blondes?

(I hope so)

ETA: I mentally flipped a coin between this & Soul Asylum.  And lost.

"Runaway Train" is probably a Katrina by now, but it sums up what 1993 sounded like to me.  You couldn't escape it on MTV, which I was still watching regularly at this point (hey, I was an undergrad).

Betting it's the bonus track, myself.

Another guilty pleasure, though.

And MTV was still playing videos back then....

And you still can't escape this song. There's some K-Telesque "The Buzz" compilation CD of every over-played songs the late 90s through now has to offer that features this song.
