Whatever the hell this is (the Pretenders?), it's positively awful.  WOS

Holy crap: you WOS'ed Chrissie & UB40 covering Dusty Springfield?? I'm crushed. That woulda been my uber-BOS had I been here.

it's a pretty good song.  it's got falsetto!

the video on YT is interesting, looks to be from a movie?

no, I think it's just yer typical arty music vid. Damn, Ali Campbell is an ugly git, inn'e?  I LOL'ed at the comments calling him "sexy".

I agree w/ RGMike - Loved Chrissie's opening line: "You've been crying..."

And yeah, one of those videos with a storyline. Ha!

and here's Dusty's orig, for comparison:

8/10/11- Wednesday!  KICKing it in...1988!

 1.  REM- Stand
 2.  INXS- Kick
(Movie: Big)
 3.  George Thorogood & The Destroyers- Treat Her Right (B.O.S! 3way tie!)
 4.  Treat Her Right- I Think She Likes Me (B.O.S! 3way tie!)
(News montage-Election '88)
 5.  Tracy Chapman- Talkin' Bout a Revolution
(News: Ted Kennedy-Where was George?)
 6.  Randy Newman- It's Money That Matters
(Movie: Big- caviar scene)
 7.  Erasure- A Little Respect
 8.  Icehouse- Electric Blue
(TV: Roseanne Show-coffee and toast)
 9.  UB40 w/Chrissie Hynde- Breakfast In Bed
10. The Primitives- Crash (B.O.S! 3way tie!)
(Movie: Rainman- excellent driver)

Not overwhelming, given some of the requests that were ignored, but artfully constructed, I'd say.

bwahahaha!  He always seemed a guy who believed his own press. "new Springsteen" etc. And calling yourself "the handsomest man in Rock'n'roll" when you are so NOT... ewww. But in NY, FM rock radio was all over him, doing live broadcasts and so on.

Still better looking than Ali UB40 (who looks like Jim Kerr's simple minded younger brother).

actually I've been wondering what DC's position on rap in 10@10s might be.  AL really outdid herself with stuff like Young MC and Sir Mix-a-Lot, and really the demo he's going for ought to appreciate the occasional hip-hop gem.

most of his songs sound the same to me, and I often change the station if he comes on the radio, but this one was pretty good.

No offense Mike :P  Just me no likey reggae.  In fact, me despise-y it.  Then with falsetto on top of those already clicky, sticky, repetitive beats, I just thought it sounded like, oh I dunno...a gerbil getting the crap beat out of it, or something.  Additionally, the Pretenders incl. C.H., in general, do not help.
