26 July 2011 it's... a 1998 "classic"
« on: July 25, 2011, 08:32:43 PM »
No clues so far. It's Mick Jagger's birthday -- another theme set? 10 favorite singers with big lips?

BTW Silly Foghead's *constant* postings swooning over the wondrous DC are really making me nauseous.

That's the way to get Taylor Dayne onto 10@10  :P

I'm a little disadvantaged on understanding all these changes, so perhaps someone can clue me in? I went away for a while due to work, but usually listen at night (like now).

It seems like the past few weeks have been way denser with late 80's and 90's sets. Now I like my 90-94 as much as the next person my age, but you have to mix in some 70's and Soul Patrol. Were there station changes?

What is with the "SF" abbreviations? Who is "DC"?

The small positive change is that AL's news clips are more interesting, with tie-ins to the songs. But that doesn't mean the music should become monotonous.

KFOG, in general, has been skewing way newer lately.  We have been discussing it in the "KFOG but not 10@10" topic, starting here: http://10at10club.com/forum/index.php?topic=646.msg141498#msg141498

DC = Dennis Constantine, the new PD (there wasn't one before.)

I agree about the clips being more interesting/relevant.  I've also noticed production being a bit "slicker."

As you run down the aisle?

BOS to BNL, which TANC I was listening to on the way to DC this weekend.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

Haha, "There Goes the Neighborhood" coincides nicely with what I just posted in the ITTTYSBML thread.

I don't recognize this song, but it's a Ben Folds-ish voice with AL's requisite "Bohemian Like You"-like groove (there's always one or more of these in a '90s+ set).

The Seinfeld finale into "Closing Time" was cute.  But I'm gonna bail on the rest of this, now that I've seen the setlist.  Any suggestions for afternoon background listening while I catch up on some projects here at home?

BTW, KFOG played "Closing Time" in the 6:00 hour this morning.

BOS to Lucinda, who I wish they (or anyone) would play more. Also, yay BNL although whenever I hear them I get sad about Steven Page leaving the band.

Boo Sheryl Crow. I still carry a grudge over the suicide of one of her uncredited collaborators in the Tuesday Night Music Club. Also, Lance Armstrong.
