(11-01) 19:55 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- The Giants victory parade will start at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Montgomery and Washington streets and go southbound on Montgomery to Market Street before continuing west on Market Street to Civic Center Plaza.  After the parade, Mayor Gavin Newsom will present the team with the key to the city on the steps of City Hall.  The parade will replicate the route taken by the team when they came to SF from New York in 1958.

Quote of the Day, from a Giants fan interviewed last nite: "it's Election Day -- vote Yes on Prop 19 to honor Tim Lincecum!"

and here's that Michael Franti "Say Hey (Giants Version)":

this article seems to exaggerate the severity of last night's celebratory "unrest" -- the headline says "SF erupts in Riots" -- but it contained a link to the police scanner channel, which was interesting to listen to:

There was horn-honking and firecrackers in the Mission, but I didn't hear much in the way of sirens. Compared to what happens in, say, Detroit when someone wins a championship... pretty dull stuff in SF.

Hey, if anyone down there can grab an extra copy of the Chron today, tomorrow or Thursday (post-parade coverage), please do so and I'll gladly cover your costs to buy & mail. Thanks!
Let's get right to it.

usually they're free for employees but I can't even get a copy right now.  There are none to be found.    They were either scooped up by folks who wanted them (to keep/to sell?) or by folks who realized that even employees would pay for them.

The Sporting Green, normally printed on green paper, has an orange front today!

Now that SF won, let's see how the predictions of the ESPN "experts" held up:

Geez, I think I must've snagged the last copy of the Examiner this afternoon.  It was slightly crumpled, but hey, I'll take it!

it was worse than that -- as I posted last week, nearly 30 of their seemingly infinite supply of pundits weighed in, and more than 3/4  picked Texas.  More than one guy said Texas would win because they have Cliff Lee and that he would win both of his games... ;D

Let's get right to it.

Right after the presidential election, a now former TIME employee snuck into everyone's offices on our floor after hours and took all our copies of the election issue, apparently to sell on eBay.   >:(

Just got back from the parade a bit ago.  Watched as the passed Pine just two blocks up from my office.  Very cool, very festive.

I had pretty much given up on a WS win in my lifetime.

I watched from Market and Sixth area (aka "SF's Wine Country").  very fun. lots of weed smoking.

Did Aubrey Huff show off his stuff?  I silently wondered if AL might sneak in "Rhinestone Cowboy" as a tribute to his lucky thong.
