Mark, especially, will like this week's Onion, supposedly now owned by a Chinese conglomerate:

The artist LeRoy Stevens spent six months (from October 2008-March 2009) going around Manhattan to every single record store. He asked employees at each one to tell him their favorite scream from a piece of music. He ended up with screams from heavy metal, punk and rock 'n roll, but also opera, the blues and rap. Stevens ordered them according to when he received the selections, and pressed the three-minute collection onto a 12-inch vinyl disk in an edition of 500. It has 74 screams, some of which are easily identifiable, like opening howl from The Who's "We Won't Get Fooled Again" or Iggy Pop's bellow from The Stooges' "T.V. Eye".

The order by which people are admitted into Heaven.

good news for Urth & Gaz!  (and Paul McCartney)

ETA: it's a bit long, but the really good stuff is towards the end - last paragraph & the Appendices.

Brilliant stuff. And written by a Portlander. I'm liking my newfound state of residence more and more all the time.

Clever publicity stunt - they've got people talking about it.  I've still never tried vegemite, and given my sometimes idiosyncratic food tastes, I suspect I'd like it.  If they actually want to rename the stuff, they should play up its health benefits - call it "Power-B Gel" or whatevs and sell it in American health-food stores.
