That was hilarious! Whether he was serious or not- he's a funny guy.

(I'm suspecting he's not serious, though- "and if you're Catholic? There's even more...")

I kept thinking of the minister in Saved. "Are you down with G-O-D?"

Jesus' musical number in Reefer Madness just might have that licked.

have you seen the TV spots for that Christian Rock CD aimed at tweens? It's called "Worship Jamz" (!), and the songs are sung by Avril Lavigne and Blink 182 wannabes -- all the songs sound EXACTLY like the songs Cartman and his "christian" band Faith + 1 did on South Park. And no irony at all.
You spin me right 'round, baby, right 'round

The other guy from The Office (Martin Freeman) is starring in Hitchhiker's Guide, & Mick LaSalle loved it!

FWIW, I don't know that I've ever seen a despicable character played so accurately and sensitively (if that is the word) than Ricky Gervais accomplished there.  His buffoonery was altogether not without heart, a big part of why that show, as funny as it was, was so difficult to watch.

I totally understand, and have a similar reaction.  I even sometimes feel uncomfortable watching John Cleese in Fawlty Towers for similar reasons.  He's so fucking funny, it's almost too much!

Boondocks problem at Chronicle?
« Reply #72 on: May 02, 2005, 07:49:22 AM »
I often read some of my favorite comics at my.yahoo.com, and noticed that the Sunday Boondocks online was different than the one printed in the Chronicle.  I'm surprised the Chronicle would censor it, and wonder why it happened.  Here's the online one, which I thought was hilarious:

that IS hilarious, but look closely and it's dated 5/7 which was Saturday. The Sunday comic is longer, isn't it?

and speaking of hilarious, today's Assmussen:
