2 May 2011.... It's 1996!
« on: May 01, 2011, 04:34:57 PM »
And what bold suggestions Fogheads are making on Facebook. To whit:

A Long December
Wonder (Or Jealousy)
Missing
Only Wanna Be With You
Somebody really really wants to hear No Doubt.
As least Scott Fisher admits he has to think about it.

WARNING:  The probability of this being a excruciating set is high.

I requesting one of the few enjoyable songs of 1996, Where It's At - Beck.  Let's make it out, baby...

Probably my favorite SNL musical performance of all time.

So far so good. I really liked the TOTHK, "I'm Free". Don't know the band, NTM. (Wasn't the Soup Dragons song of that title). VHM Beck, Where It's At.

Take me home with my elevator bones.

WOS COS. A friend claims he can't listen to Beck's music because of all the subliminal messages they put in.

Chris Isaak puts the brakes on prematurely, slowing the party down to a near halt. Ok song but pretty standard for him.

Followed by some 70's throwback that is pleasant but even mellower.

Followed by some 60's throwback about Westminster. Peter Paul and Mary in 1996?

I liked the song after Beck, "70s throwback" is a decent description.   Beck's not bad, either, but I had no idea he was a Scientologist.

this current song, meh.

This is TOTALLY Ack-snooze-tic Sunrise. Although Suzanne Vega sounded good (NTM).

WOS Oasis. I cannot stand the whiny voice and faux-romantic themes that make them a chick-magnet.

VHM Garbage. Well, VHM Butch Vig more like it. I like the speeded-up tape loop in the bridge although it gets repetitive once you notice it.

After Chris Isaak was Keb Mo', "More Than One Way Home," followed by John Wesley Harding, "Kiss Me Miss Liberty"
