Friday July 8--it's 1968!!
« on: July 08, 2005, 09:48:10 AM »
Anyone heard a clue as to where we're going today? Haven't been to 1969 since mid-May and 68 in nearly as long, so either could be likely. On the other hand, a Soul Patrol would be entirely welcome, if DM goes the theme route.
Let's get right to it.

And a fine fine start indeed, Donovan's Hurdy Gurdy Man.

Trivia: who's the lead guitar player on this track?

This song kinda freaks me out. I mean- I like it OK. But, there's just something about the quality of Donovan's voice in this song that's just.. freaky. I dunno.

It's been a looooong 4-day work-week, mein leiblings.

Well, that didn't take long. Yep, 'tis Pagey, wearing his session ace hat.

Little Steven played it recently and I'm sure he mentioned it.

I wondered if it was Beck, since he was on Barabajagal (sp?).  Wrong Yardbird I guess.  Source of trivia?
