AL has opened up the FB request line, y'alls.  Maybe it's become a once-a-week thing.   ::)

Loved your comment on the thread.  ;)  55 comments in 4 hours -- that speaks volumes. Hope the PD takes note.

BTW -- did Elvis do "Bridge Over Troubled Water" on his live LP?  I was thisclose to requesting "The Wonder of You".

I snagged it off of Napster ages ago and never really knew which album it was from, to be honest.  Here's an excerpt about it from Wikipedia:

Elvis Presley recorded Bridge Over Troubled Water in Nashville on June 5, 1970, and it was released on the 1970 album That's the Way It Is. He included it in his set list for his next engagement in Las Vegas, which included the filming of the 1970 documentary Elvis: That's the Way It Is, and the song was included in the original theatrical release (included version is from the August 11 dinner show).[1] During that summer season in Vegas, Paul Simon attended one of the shows, and, after seeing Elvis perform the song, he was reported to have said, "That's it, we might as well all give up now." Presley continued to use this song throughout his live performances, including his final live appearance in Indianapolis on June 26, 1977. Another live performance was seen in the Golden Globe-winning documentary Elvis on Tour, filmed at the Greensboro Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina, on April 14, 1972.
On the studio version, Robert Matthew Watson wrote in his book Heartbreak Hotel: "Presley's outstanding singing is not disguised. This is a fabulous version, burning with sincerity and power, and finding depths not revealed by the composers."

Here's a YouTube link to the song:

Now, tell me - wasn't he born to sing this song or what?  Goosebumps!

Interestingly, two 1970 songs were played in the first hour of the Morning Show; Stevie's "Signed Sealed" and S&G's "Only Living Boy in NY" both made appearances, and both are not exactly in heavy rotation on the station. If you follow AL's FB postings they're really trying to ramp up the "we play stuff nobody else plays" meme even as they hammer the usual EJ and Steve Miller "classics"  --as I write I'm hearing the Pumpkins' "1979" for what seems the 10th time in a month. Yesterday AL played Ray Charles' "What'd I Say" and made some "is this a great station or what?" comment.

...S&G's "Only Living Boy in NY"

That may well be my favorite S&G song, and its inclusion on the Garden State sndtrk (which also gave us The Shins' "New Slang" & Thievery Corporation's "Lebanese Blonde") really pushed it into my all-time top 10 Soundtracks.

she coulda played "Into The Mystic" but ... no.

Is this the full "Ballet" from Chicago? If so, I'll be impressed.

someone on the FB page just figured out that - "Wow!" - the stream is behind the radio.  I guess if she ever calls Annalisa & gets put on hold she'll be even further shocked that the radio is behind the studio (which plays while yer on hold, for those who haven't been put on hold by AL yet.)
