OMFG! Gaz leaves and AL plays Marty Balin! BOS2 "Hearts" and proxy of the missing Gazoo.
This song reminds me of fern bars and faraway glances.

BOS2 Souvenir - OMD.  Would've loved to have heard Joan Of Arc, tho.  Beggars can't be choosers, right?

BOS to OMD. (They seem to have a monopoly on my BOS's from 79-81 sets...)

Maybe she's saving the good stuff for the end.....

fingers crossed. Some Fogheads just chimed in to say this set, like, totally rocks. ::)

Just turned a corner with the Joan Jett tune. Hoping this is where the set is headed.

(FB aside: Despite the off-putting moniker and avatar, ol' Giter Dunn actually makes some good suggestions and seems to have decent taste. Unlike a lot of the regulars on AL's page.)

I'm suspecting that "Giter Dunn" is being ironic in his name/avatar.

Sigh. Living out here in the cradle of fundamentalism has dulled me to things like irony. "Get 'er done" (in a variety of different spellings) is a slogan I see emblazoned on at least one monster truck daily. And there's a local construction co. that has it that as its name. So when I see that phrase my immediate reaction is "redneck idiot."
Let's get right to it.

Like to hear something else from Sandinista - like Junco Partner

BOS3 The Magnificent Clash.  Love this bass line.  Is this verging on Katrina territory?

WOS3 "Magnificent 7", one of the biggest 1981 Katrinas there is.

I had no appreciation of Tom Snyder until the first five years of SNL came out on DVD.

BOS OMD, I think.

I have a theory that Giter Dunn and Swellegant are the same person.  An alter-ego sort of thing.   ;)

LOL, I may have alter egos, but that's not one I would have thought up. ;D

While we're on the topic, I would be willing to bet that the Styx song was actually done by Loverboy.

BOS for Ms. Jett & OMD, and I was all set to add the Clash, but this is one that Dave played to death for so long that I can only muster a VHM.  Still a good-to-great song.  "Minutes drag & the hours JERK."

it crossed over long ago -- indeed, until AL played "Hitsville UK" recently, it was the *only* Sandinista! track ever heard on 10@10... many many times.  "too fuckin long" indeed.

Long past the point of verging, I'm afraid. This was the only track Dave would play off Sandinista! But in this set it almost seems like a breath of fresh air.
