And 'meh' to Macy Gray.  I used to hate this song so much, but I don't think I've heard it in like 8 years, so it gets a pass.  It does seem like a good song to play on 10 @ 10 though.

on this we can agree -- her voice annoys the crap outta me; never understood the love.

Me neither.  Everyone seemed to love it too, it wasn't just the record companies that pushed it to #1.
I got a kick out of her next single though, just because it was self-explanitory: "Why Didn't You Call Me?" :-D

well thank gawd that's over!

I rather enjoyed it, except for Guster, but that one wasn't even that bad.

2 late 90s sets in the span of ~2 weeks.  Loving it!

Macy Gray BOS.... REALLY? C'mon!
I don't share Radical's hate of "Barrel Of A Gun"... if anything I think Guster is sadly underrated.
Yep, Southside is so NOT 1999.
The Pretenders tune is OK, but I really never need to hear it again.
Are Ziggy Marley and Michael Franti the same person? Have you ever seen them in the same room?
For about an hour I had a crush on "The other Sinead".
Len is an ok enough throwaway/guilty pleasure.
Travis had their moments, but this wasn't one of them.
I remember when the Widespread Panic tune was a current, which makes me feel really old.
And Blur is always acceptable.

I had to leave for work midset and am catching the replay.  Had I time I would have strongly defended Guster's song (which I'll always mistitle "4, 3, 2, 1"), a real period piece for me.

But wow, I really listened to Chrissie's lyric on the replay.  Was she dating a junkie at the time?  There's some (not-so-?) coded language in there, but I dunno if/what backstory may be.

The Travis tune sends me back to learning to drive in late '99 in Costa Mesa and the surrounding towns in Orange County.  It was soothing.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
