I give a solid VHM to "School", I like the keyboard work immensely, and any song that uses the word 'shirk' correctly can't be all bad.

I don't think I've ever heard that on the radio before.

Was Supertramp that much more popular in the Midwest than elsewhere?  This & about 3 other songs from Crime of the Century were AOR staples as far as I knew.

"Dreamer" and "Bloody Well Right" got NYC AOR play, but that was it.

I have to give 3DN another BOS, haven't heard this since I used to have the vinyl greatest hits record.

BOS2 to the Eagles' "Old 55," one of very few songs of theirs I really dig.

BOS3 Eagles, a truly lovely cover of "Ol' '55" and the first exposure many of us had to Tom Waits.

see above. It must be a Tom Waits thang.  (I'm sure there are Springsteen haters who love "Jersey Girl" too.)

Another BOS to Aerosmith (&  a proxy for Alicat).

"Same Old Song & Dance" should be another song on George's iPod.

BOS5 (Am I feeling generous today or what?) Billy Swan. This sounded so wonderful on Top 40 radio at the time. Written, as previously noted, for Elvis, who turned it down but began doing in his live shows after it became a hit for Mr Swan.

I'll give my last BOS to Clapton, "Let It Grow", one of his first successful self-written songs.
