that penultimate song was fun. Lots of monedgreens and NTM

are you serious -- you'd never heard "Strawberry Fields" until today?

 :o  :o  :o

no, I lost count.  it was that jumpy soul song.  by Brenton Wood?

I love when Marvin says "Oooh!" at that one point.  I'm not trying to be willfully obscure, and it's hard to describe the moment, but I'm sure you know it when you hear it.

DUDE! I had the Exact. Same. Thought. when he went "Ooooh!"

seriously?

OK, I have to mention this, I had Ray Parker, Jr's The Other Woman going through my head on Monday or Tuesday.  Not sure if I caught it on the radio or what, and when 1982 came up and you (and swelligant) requested it vi aFB and AL played it, I thought "there is some force at work here."

it's strange when these things happen, especially when you don't believe in that stuff.

it makes ya wanna grab yer... git-tar.

You mean, right before "My love is alive/ Down in my heart"?  I'm right there with you.

I think you got it.  Love it.

What could make this even more perfect to close?  "Penny Lane"?  "Ballad of You & Me & Pooneil"?  "A Taste of Honey"?  "To Sir With Love"?
Lulu?

FYI, AL posted "To Sir With Love" as the YouTube bonus track on FB.

"And You Just May Be The One"?
Sounds like Michael Nesmith.

Yup, a Nez-penned tune from the Monkees' Headquarters.  I'm stunned to hear it.  Definitely an ATBB.

Tuned in to the replay just in time for the end of R&R Woman, so got to hear You Just May Be the One. Very VERY cool. But I had no recollection that it was so short--was it even 2:00? An all-but-forgotten classic.

And am equally rhapsodic about the Spoonful's Darlin' Be Home Soon.  A timeless lovesong if ever there was one.

Y'know, the request thing can be kind of fun, but I think I still prefer the sets AL creates on her own, with no input from the Fogheads (including us).

ETA: Per AMG, You Just May Be the One was 2:00 on the dot. But then, of the 14 original tracks on Headquarters, only one was longer than 2:35.

Annalisa posted on FB that someone asked about the running order for tomorrow's marathon, so she revealed that they'd run in chrono order, that is Monday thru Friday. So if you wanna hear this set again, tune in around 9:30 or so, I'd guess. Might be tough for me. I gotta be someplace at 10 or so, but maybe I can swing it. This one was a shortie (even with 12 songs) so maybe.
Let's get right to it.
