Low Spark.... is it the LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG version?

I didn't know there was a short one.

Well, damn that *was* long.  And we're still not done.  VHM All in the Family and BOS6 Macca, "Smile Away" from the underrated Ram.  This set was one for the ages.

I believe the version of Low Spark runs about 11:30. I do remember that some rock stations would significantly shorten the bridge and ending which would at that point knock it down to about six minutes. And a really bad idea.

The Macca song was one of my two requests, the other being Ocean's Jesus rock hit, Put Your Hand In the Hand. The one I got was the less obscure of the two, but I'll take it.
Let's get right to it.

Day-um! "Keep Playin' that Rock'n'Roll" a fine TOTHK. BOS1.

Lawd! JB makes it funky! Turnips! Smothered steak! Grits'n'gravy! BOS2!

ETA: and Nassau keeps it funky. VHM and proxy of Gaz.

ETA2: Ha! AL flips the 45 over for part 2 of "Funky Nassau"! LOL!

Low Spark may have been the full version, but I think Make It Funky was an edit. Still, pulling off the flip on Funky Nassau is one for the books, so she can do no wrong in my eyes. As ever.

Post-set ETA: Low Spark was indeed the full 11+ minutes, so big ups to AL for putting on her high heels, diving in and giving us the full version. But my BOS vote is for a 4-way tie among the four ex-Beatles, with a six-way tie for fifth for everything else.

Btw, I count no fewer than six bustouts in that set--or seven if you count both halves of Funky Nassau. Nice. Very nice indeed.

One for the ages indeed - any chance anyone recorded this or can do so Saturday?

If you're talkin' Morey bustouts: I count Edgar Winter, Traffic, John, Paul, & George. AL has played "Hot Love" and Ike & Tina, methinks.  Kind of amazing that "Low Spark" isn't in the shraytabase, you'd think Dave mighta gotten around to that one at least once.  And he's played "Funky Nassau" a bunch, tho' never "Pt 2".

I captured the online stream and saved it as a QuickTime movie. I can post it somewhere and send you the link.

Not sure if this was mentioned, but upon looking at the list from afar, I noticed all the Beatles were represented individually.

Digging Smile Away on the replay. This tune really swings--I'd say it contends with Junior's Farm and Hi, Hi, Hi for Paulie's most rockin' post-Beatles song.

"I don' know how ta do that, I don' know how ta do that...."

OMG -- is *that* what they're singing? I always thought it was nonsense syllables (ohm-ba-la-ba-doo-dah, or something).
