Absolutely, but I'm hoping there are examples more recent.   :)  I do think Pink's "Dear Mr. President" could have done it if her label had had the balls to release it as a single here (it was a massive hit overseas).

It's the bari sax that really makes "I Want Candy" for me.  And of course those backbeat drums, which I once read were called "Masai drums" in an effort to make them seem exotic.
