I missed the beginning.  What's the "Jane" song mentioned on page 1 that Mike never got?

BOS2 Dee-lite, mah succotash wish.

have you ever actually WISHED for succotash?   ???
What is succotash? Never wished for it and don't even feel inclined to google it.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Succotash

Succotash (from Narragansett msíckquatash, "boiled corn kernels"[1]) is a food dish consisting primarily of corn and lima beans or other shell beans.[1] Other ingredients may be added including tomatoes[2] and green or sweet red peppers.[3] Because of the relatively inexpensive and more readily available ingredients, the dish was popular during the Great Depression in the United States. It was sometimes cooked in a casserole form, often with a light pie crust on top as in a traditional pot pie. In some parts of the American South, any mixture of vegetables prepared with lima beans and topped with lard or butter is called succotash. Succotash is a traditional dish of many Thanksgiving celebrations in Pennsylvania and other states. In Indiana, Succotash is made with green beans and corn instead of lima beans.

The word succotash is used as part of a catch phrase of the Warner Bros. cartoon cat Sylvester: "Sufferin' succotash!" The depression-era exclamation is said to be a minced oath/euphemism of "Suffering Savior". Daffy Duck also said "Sufferin' succotash!" from time to time and it is also referenced in Deee-Lite's song "Groove is in the Heart" -- "My supperdish, my succotash wish...", also in Alien Ant Farm's song 'Wish' - "Make a wish, make a succotash wish..."

Sounds/looks good to me.

Kind of liking most of this set, as 1990 was a year I have quite specific memories of.

Sonic Youth is the first real BOS though.

"Are you gonna liberate us girls from male white corporate oppression?"

Ditto on the BOS. TMBG was fine, but not enought to get excited about.

AC/DC? Wow, add this to the list of songs that never got played on KFOG back when.
Let's get right to it.

Kudos to our lufaphs for requesting Electronic's "Getting Away with It", which I know Gaz and I would both love to hear. Hope AL takes the suggestion.

Update: after Gaz also commented on the Tax day snub (and requested Calloway's "I Wanna Be Rich" for 1990), AL replied:

Hey guys, I'm sorry to disappoint on Tax Day-I just didn't file this year :) Naw, I guess I just thought we could give all those same old $$$ songs a... tax break this year...but let me know if you really miss it and we can do stimulus package refund set soon...umkay? ... and I love your Electronic request, Tim... Calloway would make sense for the 15th, too, JM...and will do another "power pop" set for sure ...Thanks all..you really have the best taste!

oh yeah, high five to lufaphs and AL!

I missed the beginning.  What's the "Jane" song mentioned on page 1 that Mike never got?

We heard Jane's Addiction's "Been Caught Stealing."
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”
