BOS T'in Lizzy, "Whiskey in the jar-O" -- I'm still gobsmacked that this came out in early '73 -- I never heard it until I started listening to CG 8 years ago.

VHM Waterboys , "Fisherman's Blues" -- inevitable but pleasing nonetheless.

It's become a Katrina, I'll admit, but I'll still give BOS to "Fisherman's Blues" since I still have such a strong emotional attachment to it.

Song #2: no idea

Are you kidding?  You didn't recognize Stiff Little Fingers?

ETA: you have to go back and watch High Fidelity again

High Fidelity aside, they were one of those New Wave bands that got zero airplay on NYC radio.

I'll give a BOS to the nice-sounding Sinead, even though "No Mermaid" is just about played out.  Great song, though.  And I was thinking about this song earlier.

BOS2 the *other* Sinead, Lohan. This was a KFOG staple when it was current. Haven't heard it in ages.

If it were up to either the Princess or me, the Sinead tune would have been "I Am Stretched On Your Grave".  But I've always liked her & this gets a VHM from me.

that was the OTHER Sinead, so your wish is still possible.

I guess I just assumed there's a cap on the number of Sinead's in a set, but I did recognize that as Ms. Lohan.  I prefer her much more rocking tune, "Whatever It Takes".

Oooh, I guess the cap is TWO Sinead's per set!

I don't think I've ever heard "Teenage Kicks", apparently by The Undertones.
