1 February 2010: it's a classic Beatles set!
« on: February 01, 2010, 10:00:26 AM »
AL is out today, so we get a classic, per Webster. I don't remember if she's done an all-Beatles set, or if this is one of Dave's from the archives.

ETA: Aaacckk! Mike and I opened and then deleted threads almost simultaneously when we saw the other's. Great minds....
Let's get right to it.

Well, Beatles are always nice, but I may not feel compelled to post much about this.

I'll be listening while doing stuff around the house, little posting.  10-way BOS tie in advance.
“The choir of children sing their song.  They've practiced all year long.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.  Ding dong.”

This one's not in the DB in the Dave era, so far as I can find. Have to hunt thru the boards here to see if AL did one that I'm forgetting.

The interview clips are ringing a bell, but I can't remember what the occasion woulda been for AL to do a Beatle set -- oh wait , the CD reissue/Beatles "Rock band" thing!

Sure 'nuf--AL did this All-Beatles set on September 9 of last year. Which was the day my mother-in-law passed, so that may explain why I'm not recalling it.

BOS George's sitar on "Norwegian Wood" -- an alt version, wherein the lyric is "I once had a girl" rather than "...met a girl"?

Finally, a different Beatle heard from besides Paul. George for a sec, and George Martin, too.

BOS to the bonus track, which our high school glee club attempted one season.  It was hella fun to sing,  not sure how fun it was to hear...

"Had a girl" is the only version I've ever known.
