epic Queen song, although oft-heard.  btw, Queen claims the third most days spent on the British record charts:

   1. Elvis Presley (2,574 days)
   2. Cliff Richard (1,983)
   3. Queen (1,755)
   4. The Beatles (1,749)
   5. Madonna (1,660)
   6. Elton John (1,626)

wow, the edge out the Fabs by 0.34%  That's pretty damn close.  That's like running a 10k race and winning by less than a stride.

right, and I wonder if the Beatles remasters will change that.

CRAAAAP! I missed Crackerbox Palace?!!? Picked a crappy day to have a meeting w/ contractor, I did. Guess I know where i'll be at 10pm.  

I remember George guesting on SNL when 33 1/3 was just out, and playing This Song live, and showing the video for Crackerbox.

I just watched the This Song film, and now recall seeing both--maybe we're both half right. They showed both films, and George played something else--perhaps While My Guitar Gently Weeps? And was Eric Idle the host?

The first entry from JS's Spitfire album in the DB era. Somewhat hard to believe but maybe not.

ETA: Love to hear something off Nils Lofgren's Cry Tough, one I have strong memories of from the summer of '76, along with Spitfire, Silk Degrees, George Benson's Breezin' and others.

Only up to tune #5 of the replay, and this is already a pretty fantastic view of '76. The last gasp of glam (Bowie, Sweet & KISS), an early glimpse of punk via the Runaways, and some symphonic prog (ELO, Queen) with nice helping of cheeze on the side (ED&JFC). A bit more all over the map than some of AL's other efforts. But good...damn good.
