Indeed, the Hombres have attributed the song's origins to hearing Dylan's "Subterranean Homesick Blues," deciding he was putting kids on and cobbling together their own semisensical stream of consciousness in response.

BTW, there are other JA songs I deeply dislike.  "How Do You Feel," "Spare Chaynge" and "Wild Turkey" are chief among them.

The lyrics seem to have taken 7 minutes to write, and that's with editing.

As for "Spare Chaynge" - long instrumentals put me to sleep if I can't dance to them.  (See also: "Oh Well.")

Well, I guess I'm just reacting as a bass player.  Jack Casady does some of the most amazing shit on Spare Chanynge.  I realize it's not fit for public consumption in 2009.
